By Jon Minners

When it comes to swimming, Preston High School student, Kellie Lyver, is leaving everyone in the water.

The star athlete and potential Olympic star has pushed her team to new heights with her speed in the water, most recently propelling her team to a 28 point victory over Good Council on Friday, February 2, at SUNY Maritime.

Lyver was on the first place medley team that also included Jennifer Kulick, Justine DeGand, and Christina Murphy. Lyver also led a team of Jessica Murphy, Lindsey Tierney and Christina Murphy to first place in the 400-yard relay free.

Her individual performances were just as impressive. In the 50-meter freestyle, Lyver took first place with a time of 25.50 seconds and in the 50-meter fly, also won first with a time of 29.70 seconds.
