RAVENS LOST TO RICE AS TWO SENIORS PREPARE FOR COLLEGE

By Jon Minners

It was a bittersweet pill to swallow as the St. Raymond Ravens lost a disappointing battle to their rivals, Rice, in front of their home crowd.

For Darion Benbow and Gerald Colds, the 81 to 65 loss to the Manhattan school, will probably be the last time they will enjoy what has become a storied rivalry between the two teams throughout the years.

Colds and Benbow have nothing to be ashamed of. Both played well, according to their coach Oliver Antigua. Colds scored 15 points followed by Benbow with 13, but it was just not enough to stop the dominant Rice team, a favorite to win the CHSAA championship this year.
