Bank robber targets Forest Hills

The bank robber, a black man about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, usually wears all black, including a black knit cap, and has a goatee, police said.The first bank robbery occurred Jan. 8 at the Chase Bank branch at 118-30 Queens Blvd. at 5:06 p.m., police said. The robber entered the bank, passed a demand note to a teller, then fled the bank without receiving any cash, police said.The second robbery took place Jan. 26 at 4:06 p.m. at the Washington Mutual Bank branch at 106-11 71st Ave., police said. The bank thief again passed a demand note to a teller who complied and handed an unspecified amount of U.S. currency to the man, who then fled the bank, police said.Any information regarding the robberies should be directed to Crimestoppers, 800-577-TIPS or Detective Abiuso of the Major Case Squad at 646-208-3593, and refer to pattern 6/07.
