On Tuesday, February 13, Gompers (14-2) beat James Monroe Campus (6-9) 60 to 49 in the first round of the Battle of the Boroughs playoffs.
James Monroe Campus is one of six teams in the Bronx AA Division along with Lehman, WINGS, Kennedy, Dewitt Clinton and Truman; considered to be super teams where competition is tough and a 6-9 record does not reflect poorly on any team when looking at the type of schedule teams play. Gompers was denied access into this exclusive club.
