Morris Park leaders are accusing local entrepreneur Marcia Bridgett of outright lying about her intentions in opening what has turned out to be a problematic nightclub called Karma.

Bridgett approached Community Board 11 in late-November 2007 seeking approval for what she promised would be an eating and drinking establishment called Marcia Restaurant, at 1905 White Plains Road, the former home of the ill-fated Rush Lounge.

Rush Lounge, which was slated to open in January 2007 at the former Iron Kingdom Gym, had received a F-4 building permit to use the property into a club/cabaret. But unable to obtain a proper liquor license, the 49th Precinct shut the place down as they were celebrating its grand opening.
