Man charged in double slay

Police said Angel Valentin, 36, was remanded to custody facing two charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon – crimes that could land him behind bars for the rest of his life.

Murder charges have been filed against the man accused of killing his wife and a houseguest during a bloody rampage last week.

Police said Angel Valentin, 36, was remanded to custody facing two charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon – crimes that could land him behind bars for the rest of his life.

Valentin allegedly stabbed both his longtime love Iris Cuadrado, 47, and family friend, 25-year-old Wilfredo Suarez, during the melee on the morning of April 1 after, according to some reports, he had discovered that the two may had been romantically involved.

Neighbors told police that Valentin and Cuadrado lived together at the apartment at 3043 Avenue X inside the Sheepshead/Nostrand Houses. Suarez had moved into their apartment a few weeks ago, they said.

While some said that Valentin and Cuadrado were husband and wife, it was unclear just what their marital status was as this paper went to press.

Officials said that the three were arguing at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday morning when Valentin allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Cuadrado.

He then went after Suarez, who hid in a closet. He was reportedly texting a friend for help when Valentin threw open the closet door and plunged a knife into him, officials said.

Cuadrado and Suarez were rushed to Coney Island Hospital, where the 47-year-old woman was listed dead on arrival. Suarez died of his injuries several hours later.

Valentin was seen being rolled out of the apartment building on a gurney looking dazed. His shirt was off and his hands were cut up, witnesses recalled.

He was also rushed to Coney Island Hospital for observation with homicide detectives in tow.

Cuadrado's 22-year-old daughter, who neighbors said had Down syndrome, wasn't home at the time of the attack, cops were told.

Kings County prosecutors said this week that indictment proceedings against Valentin were underway.
