Magic and Music on the Stage

Beari Productions, founded by husband-and-wife team Rene and Debbie Bendana, was launched 11 years ago with a musical revue called “Magical, Musical Moments: Songs You Love to Hear.” The show was so successful that they turned it into a regular series, each with its own theme. This past weekend, they opened No. 7 of the series, “MMM VII: Broadway and so much more!”

Besides Broadway show-stoppers such as “Being Alive,” “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” and “Standing on the Corner,” the troupe presents choices that you may never see in a revue other than at Beari: “We Didn't Start the Fire,” a magnificent presentation of “I Believe” (done a cappella) and a rousing, dance-on-your-chair version of “Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show.” The finale of the show, which will be kept a secret, will have the audience standing in the aisles.

The cast includes Queens favorites Jimmy O'Neill, Amanda Doria, Monica Barczak, Candis Alec, Joe Gualtiere, Danny Maldonado and Renee Delio, as well as newcomers Niki Sorrentino and Paul Morisi and a children's chorus. Musical Director Alan Kingsley once again tickles the ivories.

“MMM VII” is being performed at Trinity Lutheran Church, 63-70 Dry Harbor Rd., Middle Village. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $14 for seniors and children under 12. Remaining performances are Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 11, at 3:30 p.m. There will be a sweet treat for all mothers and mothers-to-be at Sunday's show.
