In addition to my roles as theater columnist for the TimesLedger Newspapers and producer of The Outrageous Fortune Company, I have been known to practice law a profession that has enabled me to pay the bills for the last 45 years, although my first (and only) wife, Lois, has lately done more than her share.
So there I am at an office in downtown Flushing at a co-op closing with a Chinese attorney who came to the United States a long time ago and had to learn the law all over again, not to mention the English language. And guess what? He knows the lyrics and music to more than 100 Broadway songs from the golden age, the verses and the refrains, word for word.
