The verdict is in and Justice Arthur Cooperman has declared not guilty all three officers in the death of Sean Bell. His verdict was based on law and the evidence and testimony given. In my opinion, the district attorney did not prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The bottom line is the police officers believed they were in clear and present danger and acted accordingly. The lives of many families have been changed forever on that fateful night, and our prayers go out to those affected by what happened. The families need to try to find peace.
