Encaustic Technique — Instructed by Fawn Potash. Originally developed by the early Greek as a painting medium for funeral portraits and decorative boat finishes, encaustics are enjoying a revival in contemporary art. This 8-week class will cover safety, surveys of historic and contemporary encaustic use, basic technique, 2D and 3D applications, transfers, layering, collage, dipping and presentation ideas.
