Sunnyside Gardens Park Memorial Day Fair

What: Rides, arts & crafts, an all-day BBQ and more events that are appropriate for all ages.

When: Saturday, May 24, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Raindate: Sunday, May 25

Where: 48-21 39th Ave. (between 48th and 50th Streets), Sunnyside.

Forest Hills Parade

When: Sunday, noon

Where: Starts at the American Legion Continental Post 1424, 107-15 Metropolitan Ave. at Ascan Avenue, and proceeds along Metropolitan Avenue to Trotting Course Lane, where it meets Remsen Park. Medal of Honor recipient Robert O'Malley and Ret. Air Force Gen. Nicholas Kehoe are to be the grand marshals, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg and U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer have expressed interest in attending or sending representatives. A contingent of Marines is to march in the parade, along with Marine Reservists from the Rockaways and an armed forces float accompanied by an honor guard.

Maspeth Parade

When: Sunday, 1 p.m.

Where: Grand Avenue and 72nd Street in Maspeth and end around 2 p.m. at 69th Street and Grand Avenue

College Point Parade

When: Sunday, 1:45 p.m.

Where: Starts at College Point Boulevard and 26th Avenue; ends at MacNeil Park.

Laurelton Parade

When: Monday, 9:30 a.m.

Where: Starts at Francis Lewis Boulevard and Merrick Boulevard, Laurelton; ends at Veterans Memorial Triangle at 225th Street and North Conduit Avenue
