Man caught smoking pot on Astoria Blvd.: Cops

ASTORIA — Police said a man arrested after allegedly being observed smoking marijuana in public was found to also have a warrant out for his arrest for a previous larceny charge.

Police said they arrested a 27-year-old man at 34-16 Astoria Blvd. June 24 when officers allegedly observed the man smoking marijuana. Police said the man was also found to be in possession of marijuana along with several small Ziplock bags.

After his arrest, police said officers discovered the man was also wanted on a previous complaint for larceny, where he was allegedly found to be in possession of stolen property.
