Cops seize four vehicles taking curb recyclables

QUEENS — Sanitation police officers seized four vehicles in Queens last month that were used to illegally remove recyclables placed curbside, officials said.The operators of the vehicles were cited as well and could face fines from $100 to $2,000 for a first time offender and $5,000 for repeat offenders within a 12-month period, according to a statement from the Department of Sanitation. The department also impounded vehicles from other boroughs in the city, including 12 in Brooklyn, seven in Manhattan, five in the Bronx.
