Two car accidents in three days have left a Bronx man and Pomonok boy in critical condition at New York Hospital Queens, the 107th Precinct said.

At about 8 p.m. Saturday, a 6-year-old boy was struck by a 2004 Toyota when he ran out from between two parked cars near 155-15 Jewel Ave. in Pomonok, police said. The driver did not see the boy in time to stop, but stayed at the scene of the accident and was not charged with any crime, police said.

The victim was rushed to New York Hospital Queens where he was still in critical condition Tuesday, police said.

The two vehicles were heading east on the Long Island Expressway near 146th Street when the truck collided with the car, causing the second driver to lose control of his car and hit a tree, police said. The tractor trailer driver was not charged, police said.

The second driver, identified by police as Luis Alvarez, 53, of the Bronx, was rushed to New York Hospital Queens in critical condition, authorities said. No further information was available about his condition Tuesday.
