Credit card thief shops online, racks up $2,800

OAKLAND GARDENS -— An Oakland Gardens resident reported unauthorized charges were made to a credit card July 3, according to police. The thief gained access to the victim's American Express account and purchased more than $2,800 worth of goods from an Internet Web site, police said.

No arrests were made.
