PB YOUTH DISRUPT LIBRARY

By Lorna Montalvo

Library staff, customers and local residents have had enough after a five-year struggle with crowds of unsupervised children who have been causing trouble in and around the Pelham Bay Library.

In addition to the usual horseplay that 11-year-old children typically get into, the girls and boys harass passersby in the street, litter and destroy property. Attempts at discipline are met with cursing and threats, and in one case rock throwing.
