Police need help IDing Astoria rob suspect

ASTORIA — Police were asking for assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Astoria July 15.

The suspect passed a demand note to a teller at the Commerce Bank at 31-90 Steinway St. in Astoria, then fled northbound on 38th Street with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

The suspect was described as a 25-year-old male, about 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds, and was wearing a baseball cap, gray T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, police said.
