Energy from wind farms a good idea

By Frederick R. Bedell Jr., Glen Oaks Village

Mayor Michael Bloomberg is at it again. He is always thinking of ways to lessen the burden of most of us New Yorkers.

The mayor is proposing developing wind turbines on top of skyscrapers and bridges. He also proposes building wind farms in the Atlantic Ocean. This will supply 10 percent of the city's electricity. We have a proven technology and we can do this.

I think we need to go for it. The real beauty of wind power is that it is renewable and clean and allows us to get away from fossil fuels, which will eventually run out.

I say kudos to Bloomberg for caring about the environment and the city's future.
