Bayside HS helps out the needy overseas

As the school year begins, September and October can be two of the most hectic months. It is time for a new year and change. The Bayside High School Key Club used these months to make a change, which had an impact on numerous children in Swaziland, an African country.

The club raised over $4,000 in about one month around Halloween by collecting money for UNICEF. The money collected went to support the health and education of children living in poverty. It went to children who do not have clean water to bathe in or drink.

Months after the UNICEF project, the club flew to Denver, Colo., for the International Convention in the summer. There they were recognized for raising the most money for the cause internationally. These students understood that when working together with passionate people, your pocket change could change someone's life.

Help the Bayside High School Key Club as it helps the world by making donations. It only takes a nickel and a penny to provide water and $2 to provide nutrition to a child. That $2.06 keeps the child healthy and alive so he or she can dream of having an education.

Make 20 dreams come true with $41. Look for the orange boxes on Halloween and the weeks surrounding it to make a difference.
