St. Albans man dies in barbershop shooting

ST. ALBANS — A St. Albans man shot in the torso earlier this month inside a neighborhood barbershop has since died of his injuries, police said last week.

The shooting of Raheem Grays, 33, of 115-30 Francis Lewis Blvd. in St. Albans, was reclassified as a homicide after he was pronounced dead Oct. 7 at Jamaica Hospital. Grays was taken to the hospital in critical condition Oct. 3, police said.

Two masked men entered the barbershop at 110-50 Farmers Blvd. in St. Albans at around 8:29 p.m. Oct. 3 when one shot was fired, hitting Grays in the torso, police said.

There had been no arrests in Grays' murder as of Tuesday, police said, and the investigation was ongoing.
