Over $5K stolen from Macy’s account

BAY TERRACE — Police said they were investigating how someone was able to hack into the Macy’s credit card account of a 193rd Street resident and bilk the victim of more than $5,000 in charges.

Police said the resident’s credit card account was broken into sometime Sunday, when an unknown perpetrator was able to make $3,300 in charges on the Macy’s card and obtain convenience checks amounting to $2,900.

Police said the case was being investigated as a grand larceny and fraud case and as of Tuesday no arrests had been made.
