3 ARRESTED IN TN SHOOTING

The 45th Precinct confirmed the arrests of three males allegedly responsible for a wild shootout in Throggs Neck in the wee hours of Thursday, January 24.

According to police, at approximately 1:15 a.m., two groups of men were engaged in conversation on E. Tremont Avenue, about 10 or so yards north of Miles Avenue, when at least one individual fired a dozen rounds, striking an individual from the rival group in the shoulder as well as striking another in his own party.

The 45th Precinct, after reviewing security surveillance film recorded at the scene, determined the two groups knew each other, but have not released information as to the nature of their dispute.

Those arrested were John Rezej, 38, of Cruger Avenue, who was shot by a friend and took himself to Jacobi Medical Center; John Bevilaqua, 34, of Esplanade, along with Martino Cekaj, 30, of Roberts Avenue.

The other victim, shot in the shoulder, was taken to Westchester Square Medical Center. Both men were treated for their injuries and released.
