Bronxites can get high-quality cosmetology service without burning holes in their pockets at the New Image Beauty Salon, housed on the fifth floor of the Grace Dodge Career and Technical High School in Belmont.
And this year, the salon will be even more like a modern-day spa with the help of a $65,000 grant from Senator Efrain Gonzalez, Jr. that will be used over the next three years.
So far, the salon has been able to install new cabinets, sinks, client chairs and waiting chairs to one side of the salon.
