Bradford Washington, of 207-15 109th Ave., was convicted of second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child for the murder of Karim Titus, 19, outside Titus' Queens home. Washington wrongfully believed Titus was involved in the murder of one of his friends and shot him six times, Brown said.”The defendant chased the victim into his front yard while firing at him and showing no concern that other people, including a child, could have been harmed,” Brown said in a statement.Washington followed Titus, his sister and his nephew from the Green Acres Mall, where they spent the day shopping, according to the DA.He was convicted of the 2004 slaying following a two-week trial in the fall. Judge Richard Buchter imposed the maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison and recommended that he never be paroled.Brown agreed with the judge's decision, calling it appropriate for the crime.Reach reporter Ivan Pereira by e-mail at ipereira@timesledger.com or by phone at 718-229-0300, Ext. 146.
