On February 6, two men were arrested in a string of robberies that occurred on the #6 train between the Westchester Square and Pelham Bay Park stations from January 19 through February 2.
Danny Maldonado, 17, of 2175 Lacombe Avenue and Julio Alicea, 16, of 2805 Schley Avenue, were brought to the 45th Precinct for questioning after officers assigned to the Bronx Robbery Squad recognized them from victim descriptions.
In five separate instances, police say Maldonado and Lacombe displayed a weapon to train passengers and demanded their property and money. No one was injured in the robberies.
The first incident occurred on January 19, at 5:45 p.m., when the two suspects allegedly stole cash and property from an 18-year old victim at the Pelham Bay Park station.
Later that night, at 11:45 p.m. at the Westchester Avenue station, a 16-year-old was the subject of the suspect
