Knowing that they would receive a forfeit victory over Adlai Stevenson on Thursday, February 7, the Lady Jaguars of Jane Addams only needed to beat Evander on February 5, to guarantee at least a tie for first place in the Bronx A Division.

They did, but barely, as missed lay ups, missed free throws and overall sloppy play almost did Jane Addams in. Stepping up in the 4th quarter was Elsie Ndema, whose 21 points helped lift the Lady Jaguars over Evander, 51-48.
