Elmhurst robbery part of pattern: Police

ELMHURST — The November robbery of an Elmhurst auto parts store was labeled last week as part of a pattern of thefts in Brooklyn and Queens, police said.

Authorities said between two and four people are wanted in connection with seven robberies targeting either Auto Zone or Strauss Auto Parts stores between Aug. 13 and Dec. 22.

The Strauss location at 79−25 Queens Blvd. was robbed at around 9:25 p.m. Nov. 24, police said.

Authorities said the men were armed with guns and demanded money — the same method used in the six other robberies.

The suspects, believed to be anywhere from two to four black men, were described as between 18 and 25 years old, 5−feet 2−inches tall and weighing 170 pounds, police said.

The other locations that were robbed are all in Brooklyn, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 1−800−577−TIPS or by texting 274637 and entering TIP577.
