Letter on Bloomberg needs facts

I need to comment on Frederick R. Bedell Jr.’s March 5 letter “Bloomberg can help city recover economically.”

Nowhere in this piece does Bedell mention one thing Mayor Michael Bloomberg has done for the city. He cites the mayor’s attributes in general terms, like “independent, honest leader.”

The most glaring example of Bedell’s ignorance is his analogy with reference to former President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his running for a fourth term. At that point in history, there were no restrictions on how many times a person could be elected president. It came afterward because of Roosevelt’s many elections.

Since the amendment forbidding more than two terms, no president has taken it upon himself to have the law overturned.
