Lindsay, Stevens lead SJU women past Hartford, into WNIT round 3

Sky Lindsay had 15 points and four assists and Da’Shena Stevens had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists to lead the St. John’s women’s basketball team to a 70-59 win against Hartford in the second round of the WNIT on Sunday at Chase Arena in West Hartford, Conn.

The Red Storm (19-14) will meet the winner of Monday’s Boston College-Boston University match-up in the third round on a date and at a place yet to be determined.

Kelly McManmon and Aricia Mitchell each had 11 points and Centhya “Coco” Hart had 10 points and six rebounds for St. John’s, in the third round of the WNIT for the second straight season. Ilicia Mathis and MaryLynne Schaefer each had 14 points for Hartford (20-12).
