Close schools to protect students from coming down with swine flu

As the swine flu cases continue to increase, it might be a good idea to consider closing all public, non−public and private schools and colleges until the city Health Department can really get a good handle on this serious health situation.

Schools and colleges are places where scores of students gather and, since this flu is spread from person to person, these places would only exacerbate an already serious situation. As a school teacher, I am concerned for my own health as well as my colleagues’ and students’.

Hopefully, schools will not have to be closed, but health officials will have to consider that a real possibility if the swine flu continues to spread.
