E. Elmhurst man violated protection order: Brown

EAST ELMHURST — A 37−year−old East Elmhurst man was arrested after he allegedly violated an order of protection, the Queens district attorney said.

Senen Cando, of 32−31 100th St. in East Elmhurst, was arraigned April 24 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Toko Serita on a criminal contempt charge, Queens DA Richard Brown said. The defendant was released on his own recognizance, he said.

According to the criminal complaint, the defendant was discovered sleeping in the home of a woman who had an order of protection against him during a visit to the home by a domestic violence officer. Cando, who was not supposed to contact the woman, had previously been arrested at her home during an incident that led to the order of protection, the DA said.
