Today’s news:

Stolen ATM cards used to buy MetroCard

JAMAICA — Police were looking for a man who they say used stolen ATM cards to purchase his subway fare at the Jamaica Center−Parsons⁄Archer Station Sunday.

Around 9:30 a.m., the suspect, described as a 6−foot black man between 35 and 40 years old wearing a black jacket, light colored pants and light baseball cap and carrying a black backpack, stole a person’s wallet on the platform of the 175th Street F train station, police said.

The man then allegedly used the ATM cards from the stolen wallet at a MetroCard vending machine at the Parsons⁄Archer E train station to buy a MetroCard. The suspect was videotaped on surveillance cameras in the Parsons station.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 1−800−577−TIPS (8477) or log on to nypdcrimestoppers.com. All reports will be kept confidential.
