LI man on drugs sped down Grand Central: DA

GRAND CENTRAL PARKWAY — A Long Island man was arrested last week for allegedly speeding on the highway while high on marijuana, the Queens district attorney said.

Jorge Crespo, of Valley Stream, L.I., was going 128 miles per hour in a motorcycle on the Grand Central near Francis Lewis Boulevard around 9:45 p.m. on May 19 when he was stopped by a police officer who clocked his speed with a radar gun, the criminal complaint said.

When questioned by the officer, Crespo, 28, allegedly had a strong odor of marijuana and bloodshot eyes, according to the criminal complaint. He reportedly told the officer, “I smoked yesterday,” the complaint said.

The officer discovered that Crespo allegedly did not have a motorcycle license and recovered three Ziplock bags with marijuana, according to the complaint.
