Trucker victim of robbery at gas station: Police

ASTORIA — Police were asking for the public’s assistance in locating two suspects wanted in connection with a robbery at a gas station Friday.

Police said at about 12:45 p.m., two men approached a commercial truck driver who was filling up his tank at a Hess Gas Station at 89 Astoria Blvd. According to authorities, a black man with a heavy build in his 30s showed the victim a handgun while another black man in his 30s with a medium build and light−colored clothing demanded money.

Police said the truck driver complied and the pair of suspects fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.
