Three MTA workers stole forklifts from warehouse

MASPETH — Three MTA subcontractor employees were charged with grand larceny Tuesday for allegedly stealing eight forklifts and more than 17 tons of batteries from a transit warehouse, the Queens DA said.

Queens DA Richard Brown said Bruce Lesniewski, 30, of 79 N. Henry St. in Brooklyn; Darrin Pfaff, 42, of 10 11th St. in Ronkonkoma, L.I.; and Kimberely B. Edwards, 57, of 60 E. Lakeland St. in Bay Shore, L.I., were awaiting arraignment in Queens Criminal Court Tuesday.

Brown said the three allegedly stole the equipment from the MTA’s Maspeth warehouse at 55-04 Maspeth Ave. in September.

Lesniewski and Pfaff worked as technicians for Crown Equipment, an MTA subcontractor, and Edwards was employed by Crown as a flatbed truck driver. Each faces up to seven years in prison if convicted, according to Brown.
