Girl, 2, critical after Woodhaven hit-and-run

WOODHAVEN — A 2-year-old girl was in critical condition after police said a car struck her and fled the scene.

Authorities said the 2-year-old, who was not named, was hit by an unknown automobile near the corner of 85th Street and Rockaway Boulevard at about 9:30 p.m. Friday night. Police said the girl was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where she remained in critical but stable condition Tuesday.

Police said no arrests had been made and the investigation was ongoing. Police said anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
