Man threatens neighbor with knife: Brown

BROAD CHANNEL — A Broad Channel man was arrested July 8 after he allegedly brandished a kitchen knife at the tenant of a neighboring apartment because the tenant was making noise while he and his mother were trying to sleep, a spokeswoman for the Queens district attorney’s office said.

James Giordano, 42, of 80-00 Shore Front Pkwy. in Broad Channel, was arraigned July 9 before Queens Criminal Court Justice Lenora Gerald on charges of menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, the spokeswoman said.

Giordano was released on his own recognizance, the spokeswoman said.

Giordano allegedly knocked on the front door of an apartment in the complex he was living in between 3:30 p.m. and 3:57 p.m. July 8, displayed a kitchen knife and told the tenant, “You are making too much noise. Me and my mother are trying to sleep,” according to the criminal complaint.
