Husband harassed wife while in police HQ: DA

GLENDALE — A 39-year-old man added an aggravated harassment charge to an already accumulated assault charge when he allegedly called his wife and threatened her while at central booking at Police Headquarters in Manhattan after being arrested for attacking her, the Queens district attorney said.

The Queens DA said Lallman Persaud, 39, of Ridgewood allegedly struck his wife in the face in front of their 5-year-old son July 22 and was arrested on assault charges.

Police said when he arrived at One Police Plaza in Manhattan to be booked for the crime, he allegedly used his privilege of using the phone to call his wife and threaten her by saying “You should hide.”

The DA said he was arraigned on both assault and aggravated harassment charges last Thursday.
