Today’s news:

YourNabe ads detract from site

Advertising on YourNabe.com, the new Web site of TimesLedger Newspapers, is ineffective and makes the entire Web site difficult to read. In a recent Yahoo! poll, 85.71 percent of Web site owners said ads that “blend in” with their Web site content have been the most effective.

The ads on YourNabe are anything but. They flash, blink, move and annoy the reader. They are placed haphazardly throughout the page, giving it a very unbalanced appearance. As a result, the Web site appears unprofessional and potential readers will simply not return.
