Dispute over money leads to assault, arrest

Elizabeth Evans, of 112-23 199th St. in St. Albans, was arraigned Sept. 9 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Robert Raciti on charges of assault, petit larceny and harassment, Queens DA Richard Brown said. The defendant, released on her own recognizance, will return to court Sept. 24, the DA said.

On July 4, Evans allegedly approached a man near the intersection of 113th Avenue and 197th Street in St. Albans and demanded rent money, Brown said. The defendant was accompanied by two men.

One of the two men, neither of whom have not been apprehended, allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat, causing a bruise and swelling to the throat, the DA said. The other man allegedly removed $88 from the victim’s pocket, he said.
