Corona man accused of assaulting woman

CORONA — A Corona man was arrested after allegedly punching a woman in the face while she held her 2-year-old daughter, the Queens district attorney said.

Ying Zhang, 51, allegedly attacked the woman around 5 p.m. Sept. 13 at the intersection of Main Street and 41st Avenue in Corona, the DA said.

After Zhang allegedly punched the victim, she experienced bruising and swelling above her right eye, the DA said.

Zhang was charged with third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment, according to the DA. He is scheduled to appear in Queens Supreme Court Oct. 22.
