Man, woman send each other to hospital, jail: DA

OZONE PARK — A pair of young people both went to the hospital for stitches and then to jail after getting into a fight Sept. 29, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Around 4:30 p.m. at a residence on 122nd Street, Leonard Zuniga, 20, allegedly threw a glass bowl at 18-year-old Jalissa Rosario, causing a cut on her arm, according to a criminal complaint filed by the DA’s office.

Rosario was allegedly no shrinking violet, either. She allegedly threw a lamp at him, leaving two gashes on Zuniga’s left arm, and then threw something into his flat-screen television, the DA’s office said.

Both were briefly hospitalized for stitches and then charged with assault. Rosario was also charged with criminal mischief and harassment. Zuniga was released on his own recognizance and Rosario was held in lieu of $1,500 bail.
