Making Strides walk to fight breast cancer

Borough residents can help find the cure to breast cancer and all they have to do is take a hike on Queens Boulevard.

The American Cancer Society will be holding its annual Making Strides against Breast Cancer walk Sunday morning at Queens Borough Hall. The charity walk celebrates survivors of the disease and offers support for those who are currently fighting it.

Registration is ongoing at cancer.org and continues up until the 9 a.m. Sunday, where latecomers can do in-person registration at the starting line. The walk is set to begin at 11 a.m. and will take place on Queens Boulevard between Borough Hall in Kew Gardens and Junction Boulevard in Rego Park.

Last year the American Cancer Society raised $60 million from its Making Strides events across the nation.
