Pilot, first responders deserve praise for plane’s landing on the Hudson

US Airways Flight 1549’s 155 passengers survived what could have been a terrible disaster. Gov. David Paterson called it the Miracle on the Hudson.

It might have been a miracle, but I think it was also because the passengers were in the capable hands of Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger. Credit must also go to the first responders, like the NYPD, FDNY, Port Authority, Coast Guard and New York Waterway and Circle Line ferry crews, who sprung into action to save the day.

I also believe Sullenberger had an angel in his cockpit guiding him and Flight 1549 to safety.
