Miracle on the Hudson occurred because everyone worked together

The pilot of Flight 1549 is a hero. He executed an emergency landing in the Hudson River smoothly and with no loss of life.

The heroics of this pilot and his well−trained flight crew need to be recognized not only on a local scale, but on a national one. Also, the fast action of the ferry captains and other numerous boat crews in immediately responding to this crash were no less than stupendous.

Our emergency services people, firefighters, police officers and EMS workers should also be recognized for their immediate responses. The passengers knew that they were in good hands with these people responding to help them.

I and all New Yorkers are so grateful there was no loss of life. In good and bad times, New Yorkers can and do pull together.
