Flushing student is finalist in Intel competition

Two of Queens’ young scientific stars keep burning brighter and brighter.

Bronx High School of Science student Josepher Li of Flushing and Stuyvesant High School student Anissa Mak of Oakland Gardens were two of just 40 students selected out of a pool of more than 1,600 nationwide to compete for $530,000 in college scholarships at the Intel Science Talent Search Finals in Washington, D.C. this March.
