Church cash box stolen: Police

FRESH MEADOWS — A petty cash box was stolen from a Fresh Meadows church after it was burglarized Sunday, police said.

A thief or thieves broke into the church on the 82nd Avenue block of Bell Boulevard through a bathroom window and kicked in the church office door between 11 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday, police said.

A file cabinet in the church office was pried open and a petty cash box was removed, police said.
