Manhattan man punched Queens resident: Boro DA

ASTORIA — A 42−year−old Manhattan man was arrested last month after he punched a 26−year−old Queens man in the face and broke his jaw, the Queens district attorney said.

Charles McDuffie, who lives on Second Avenue in Manhattan, was arraigned Feb. 5 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Joseph Zayas on assault and harassment charges, Queens DA Richard Brown said. The defendant, released on his own recognizance, will return to court Feb. 24, the DA said.

McDuffie was arrested after he allegedly broke another man’s jaw by punching him in the face, Brown said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he had his jaw wired shut, the DA said. The man had to undergo reconstructive surgery and had metal plates inserted into his mouth, Brown said.
