Would-be robber first laughed off by victim: DA

At 3:27 p.m. March 7, Brady Hollenquest, 46, entered the mall, approached a booth and demanded money from the cash register, according to a criminal complaint filed by the DA’s office.

The employee laughed Hollenquest off, but he returned a short time later, grabbed the woman from behind and allegedly placed a knife to her neck, the DA said. After another vendor helped the woman struggle out of Hollenquest’s grip, the would-be robber ran to another unattended booth and grabbed some cash from the register before fleeing, the DA said.

Police caught up with Hollenquest in a nearby parking garage, where he allegedly struggled with them, the DA said. The cops allegedly found $463 in cash in Hollenquest’s pockets, the DA said.
