Around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Gregory Brown, 22, who went by the stage name G Baby, got into a fight outside the club Amazura at Archer Avenue and 143rd Street, police and MTV News reported. Brown was shot multiple times in the torso and a 23-year-old man was shot once in the leg.
Both men were taken to Jamaica Hospital, where Brown was pronounced dead.
Brown had been signed to the record label of Memphis Bleek, a protege of Jay-Z, MTV News said. Police had made no arrests in the slaying by press time Tuesday.
